Google Suite for Confluence

Google Suite for Confluence helps to embed Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms and External Contents such as embedded link of Figma, Google Drive, Youtube clip,… for Confluence so easily.

Specially, for your convenience, it supports you to view embedded files in full screen, and directly edit macro parameters (i.e URL, height, width) in view mode. So you don’t need to open Edit page mode to edit the macro parameters

  2. Getting started:

  • Open your Confluence page in edit mode, type "/go" to search suitable add-on, for example, I choose “External Content Viewer to…”

  • In the cell “URL”, paste link of the file you want to embed. If you don’t know how to get the link, please see more in section Samples.

  • In other cells (Width, Height, Caption), you can adjust display size or add caption for your file.

  • Then, click Update button.

  • In View mode, it has 2 buttons:

    • Full screen button: help to view embedded files in full screen

    • Edit macro button: allow user to directly edit macro parameters in view mode without clicking Edit page (this requires Write permission)

  • Get link from Google Drive:

. In the details section of file, click “Manage access”

. Choose “Anyone with the link” option, and click “copy link”, then “Done”. So you get the link, and grant permission to others to view the file.

 

  • Get embedded link from Youtube:

. Click Share button:

. Click Embed button:

. The link is in source: src= “ ….” (the part highlighted in blue)

  • Get embedded link from Figma:

. Click Share button:

 

 

and click the “Get embed”

Then you can have the URL by copying text inside src=” ” as below screenshot.
